Beef and Broccoli Recipe

Beef and Broccoli has always been a favorite of my family’s and also seems to go over well with our dinner guests.  It is an easy meal to fix and the ingredients needed are usually on hand at any time.  This is also an easy dish to double or triple if needed depending on how many are coming for dinner and the recipe is adaptable to be used in a slow cooker if needed.  Beef and Broccoli have been a staple meal for years and the combination of the beef with the broccoli just seems to a natural fit.  If your family doesn’t care for the combination of spices and seasonings, I am sure you could change it up to make any family member happy. Let’s get started with this amazing dish! 

 

 

Here are the ingredients we will be using for the recipe: 

 

 

Sauce Ingredients:

brown sugar

ginger, grated

cloves garlic, grated

soy sauce

 cornstarch

 pepper

sesame seed oil

beef broth

Lime juice

 

Ingredients:

cooking oil

beef strips

 broccoli, florets 

Sesame seeds

 

Now let’s start the process of this wonderful dish of Beef and Broccoli: 

 

Stir together all sauce ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Taste and adjust to personal preference. Set aside.

Place 2 Tablespoons of oil in a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat.

Add the chopped broccoli and sauté until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet.

Add remaining oil to the skillet and once hot, add the beef strips. Cook until beef is evenly browned and reaches an internal temperature of at least 135F (will continue to cook in the sauce).

Add the broccoli back to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until sauce is thickened.

Serve over noodles or rice, with a garnish of sesame seeds.

Directions
